Well there are many qualities that a bloggers needs to have and in my previous post we define what a blogger is and now we will look at some of the qualities that makes a good blogger continuously writes good content and keeps his readers engaged. We can list a million qualities but there are those that stand out in my mind.

Passion – Been passionate as a blogger is one of such qualities that any blogger need to have been passionate about what we do and write about is essential this gives us the ability to write and inspire others. Been able to share information with your audience, passion is the desire a strong feeling to do something. Just imagine having passion and the knowledge that is the power for any blogger.

Dedication – is define as making a pledge so what is that for a blogger? Making a pledge to write quality and useful content interact with your readers share your knowledge is a big quality as a blogger if you are a dedicated blogger you will overcome whatever obstacle you face which as bloggers there can be many. This is about having the never say die spirit fighting the writer’s block to inspire others.

Drive and Determination – Another two good qualities we need to posses as bloggers there will always be times when everything seems to be going the wrong way around we need to pick up ourselves and get going. Ask any season bloggers they will tell you that sometimes they can’t seems to find the topic to write about or better just cannot find the motivation to write but through drive and dedication they dig deep find a topic and start writing.

Writing is a must for all bloggers and Content is the King, but how do you write a compelling content one that attracts you readers. The point here is not just writing but writing worthwhile content is another matter, I strongly believe that there are three elements in your content that if you get that right your content will be a kick ass content. Paying attention to these three particular area in no doubt will make your content worth its weight in goal, they are The headline, The Body and the summary. We will look at these individually.

The Headline

This is your first point of call to action your headline is what sells your article, this is the first line the readers reads and if it is interest them then the rest is taken care of. Don’t get me wrong sometimes the headlines of an article is crap but the content is fabulous, but who would know? Speaking from past experience writing compelling headline is your best bet. There are many ways to write a compelling headline, you can do it by Asking a question, or my favourite is been thought provoking. The method that works best is the one that fits your writing style.

The Body

This is the second most important part of your content this is where readers get the information from, your article body should be informative and elaborate the headline. Take for example if you are asking a reader to sign up to a newsletter, this is where you sell the visitor the benefits of signing up. Remember you should give as much information as possible here. You might want to start by a way of giving some introduction before going into full details. Trying using sentences and write in paragraphs and most of all try and engage the reader, now lets move on to the final step.

The Summary

it is always good practice to summarise your content for your readers this serves as a refresher. some readers get lost during reading especially if the post was a lengthy one. Summarising your article only serves to remind the reader of what they have just read by putting this in a nut shell. There you have it the three most important points to remember when writing your article, get this right and you are on your way to writing a kick ass post for your readers. (1)Content – I meant great content is one of the three main ingredients to achieve success , Content is King or Isn’t it? you can argue here all day, agree to disagree but the fact still remains great content is what we all strive for as bloggers, great content are those your readers yearn for, these are the ones that left your readers feeling filled. how do you produce great content firstly start with  catchy headlines sometimes a bit of controversy is good but don’t over do it this can be a big put off to some readers.

There is no denying it Great Content is very important, remember we write for our readers and visitors alike this is what they come for and we need to be producing just that.Content can be anything that your blog offers it could a brilliantly written article of a wanted product it just have to be something worth the visit.

(2)Design – Now your website design fits in as one of your ingredients that can help to make or break your success. Remember the saying “First impression last” live by this rule don’t make your first impression be your visitors last visit. i can say this putting great content and a nicely design website together and you are well on your way to success.To have a good design you need to look at a combination of factors from your navigational structure to layout, ads placement and site colours just to name a few. Just remember good design attracts attention just as how good content gets mentioned now this leads to the third ingredients.

(3)Marketing – No i haven’t forget this one, this is area you need to paying close attention to, we all heard about Search engine Optimization or SEO, Back links and Networking yes we all do and SEO is close to our heart as bloggers. Hey, never forget marketing this is the single most critical ingredient that will determine your success. Follow me here for a minute you start a blog hire a brilliant web designer and write the most compelling piece of Content, brilliant but how are we going to know about your website or blog? simple answer Marketing, if you don’t market your blog it is like buying a Porsche and keep it in the garage who is going see it?

In summary these are three vital ingredients for your success, Brilliant Design, Great Content and a well organised Marketing strategy. Some believe that using a casual tone works best for blogging while others don’t the truth is you should not be too worried about this my advice is to choose the tone that you feel comfortable with, you know what works best for you and your readers after all you write for your readers and they are what matters most to you. Using a casual tone is like having a conversation with a friend and don,t be afraid to use jargons or slangs as long as it is not offensive to your readers. This will bring out the humour in you but don’t over do it and never ignore grammars.

Don’t Overdo It With The Length of Your Post
Here is Another area which is always up for debate ,for me keeping blog post some where between four hundred and six hundred words is a reasonable length post however there is no hard and fast rule on this you decide the length of your blog post but keeping it short and concise is the best option in my opinion don’t left your readers get bored.If you need to write a very long post it is worth breaking it up in different parts again this gives you the writer of having another post.

Use Your Advertising Space Adequately

As bloggers we often monetize our blogs and by this i meant offering advertising space on our blogs Too often we see bloggers doing this and their blogs are so crowded with ads that it looks very cluttered people use blogs as a space to advertise their services or their products. This can be a cheap way to get your work out there. It is noted however that blog readers can get annoyed quickly at advertisements on blogs. If you must advertise on your blog, consider doing so in a more careful way like using rotating ad manager. for me i don’t mind the ads but i don’t like the content has to three or four ads in between them especially if it is ads that uses your content to generate the advertisement because sometimes the ads get duplicated.

Check Your Spelling And Post Frequently

Most Bloggers would use a text editor of some sort to write their post or they would use the in built ones that your blogging platform provides whatever ones you uses make sure that you check you spelling before you publish your post to the public although we sometimes uses jargon in our writing it is always best practice to do a spell check before going live. Another point worth thinking about is how often to post well again you know your readers some visit daily weekly and so on so judging by that it would be a good idea to post as often as you possible can. 2. Passion

Yes you read it right been passionate is another good characteristic of being a good blogger ask any successful blogger or website owners alike that has been around a long time and they will tell you of their passion for what they are doing building a blog is easy but maintaining it is another factor when i started my first website about six years ago i thought that everything will fall in place like visitors and earning a passionate income to pay the hosting bills. Yeah right yes what i did not do was to “Read the Script” and then when i realize it i had to get moving. Reaching this milestone of one hundred post with over eleven hundred comments for me is a goal achieved and still i am not giving up my goal is to reach as many readers as possible.

3. Writing Good Content

1. Determine what type of traffic loss you’re dealing with. Many people look at Google’s overview page, see a loss of overall traffic to their website, and assume that they must have lost their rankings in Google and the targeted traffic that comes with it. This may or may not be the case. Be sure to check for search engine traffic, and even more specifically Google non-paid traffic.

2. Look at the extent of the traffic loss. Your research will be very different depending on whether there was a gradual decline in traffic or a sudden, drastic drop. I reviewed a site last week that lost all of their Google unpaid traffic overnight! This sort of loss is typically a technical issue such as a robots.txt file or a no follow directive that keeps search engine spiders from indexing your pages. Sometimes it’s not actually a loss of traffic at all – your analytics code could have been inadvertently removed from all or most of the pages, making it appear like a traffic loss. I have seen all of the above more times than I can count in just the last couple of months!

3. Compare apples to apples. Many businesses are cyclical or seasonal. A gift site may see huge spikes in traffic the months leading up to Christmas or the weeks before other holidays. This means that comparing any month to the previous month may not tell you the whole story. A drop in traffic in January is probably fairly normal for a gift site. If you’ve got more than a year’s worth of data, you’ll want to compare this month’s traffic to the same month in previous years. Ideally, you’d of course want to see a growth in traffic. And if you don’t, then you may very well have a problem on your hands. If you don’t have data that goes back that far, you can compare month to month, but be sure to take the data with a grain of salt.

4. Review and filter out “brand” traffic. Most websites get a lot of Google traffic from people who’ve typed some version of the name of their company as their search query.
