Now there are a plethora of ways to get more readers, such as search engine optimization, finding a good niche, marketing through social media, and soliciting back links (guest posts are a great way to this).Beyond these techniques, however, you must make your blog as readable as possible. And a readable blog post is nothing like a readable English paper. This is where I think many of my writer friends tend to fail at blogging. They haven’t adopted internet syntax, so internet readers find their posts too laborious even if they’re extremely well written. Because, let’s face it, people on the internet are too ADD to actually read.

Sub-headers

Many new bloggers only have a heading (in HTML, those h1-h6 tags) at the top of their post. The rest of the post is full of paragraphs. Here’s an average reader’s thought process for posts like these:

· Cool, interesting title; I guess I’ll have a read.

· Nice introduction. Keep reading.

· Okay, I’m getting tired of this topic, when is the post going to move on.

· ***Reader clicks on a shiny link to a shiny new blog with sub-headers***

Sub-headers are great for guiding a reader to parts of your post that the reader actually wants to read or finds useful. Think of it like a newspaper article; no one reads every article front to back. Segmenting an article or post with sub-headers allows readers to access the information they want more quickly. Otherwise they may give up trying to scour through a block of text to find the information they want.

You don’t necessarily need to use a heading tag to delineate a sub-header. You can simply use a stand-alone, bold-faced caption or word between sections.

Bullets

Bullet points help readers for a variety of reasons:

· They segment information more clearly than paragraphs.

· They compliment lists well.

· They keep writing on topic and organized,

And they can even nest,

Allowing you to add more depth to certain list points.

· There are also a good amount of creative uses of bullet points

(only some were used above)

Paragraph Length

You may have already guessed it, but try to keep your paragraph lengths short. This is all part of the effort to keep your writing segmented into short blocks so that readers can skim to the parts they want.

Also, most blog and reader formats are narrower than, say, Microsoft Word or most term paper formats. There’s a reason why newspapers have such short paragraphs: small column width. Many blog readers are heading in this direction.

By-line:

I have been around for a few years on the internet started blogging about four years ago and one thing I learn is that blogging is not a one man game yes these words was echo in a post by hesham from famous bloggers. My reason for this is that I have quite a few requests from a few authors asking me if I accept guest post honestly I turned down a few. So guess what I am now opening up my blog lawmacs.com to accept guest post yes you heard it right. There are some great benefits for this blog and I strongly believe that it is high time for this so what do you think? The reason why I have decided to try this route is that I strongly believe that there are great benefits and after having a few requests I think it is high time. Opening up your blog to guest authors is a great way to expand your network and attract new readers. One of the plans I have for this blog this year is to increase its reader’s base which would also increase the potential of attracting new advertisers. The next thing that this would do also would is to introduce a different writing style which would bring something fresh to this blog. I must say before you decide to write a post for lawmacs web design blog there are a few factors to bear in mind. This blog is a do follow blog but you should still consider that there are rules to follow when you write for this and any blog and I decide what gets publish here. I am quite aware that most guest authors requires a link back to their website that is fine but make sure that your website is not one that has any undesired content. The next thing to consider is the topic and the category which your article falls into. It you cover a certain category that is not already here but fits with my blog theme then I might just add it. Now what do you Think? Should I really accept Guest post on my blog and what are your views on guest post? Share your thoughts with me about your experience about the pros and cons of opening up one’s blog to multiple Authors. I have done a few guest Post for other bloggers before so i still believe that there are real benefits in it.

What does this mean? If you are blog walking and came across any post that you think is worthy of mentioning then feel free to send me the details and i will check it out. There is no guarantee when it will be publishes but if it is worthy of sharing i will publish it as soon as i can. now here are the highlights of this Round Up.

(1) Are Your Goals Attainable In 2011 – The new year has started and many of us including myself are setting goals to achieve This year.As 2010 drew to a close, I thought it would be helpful to look back over my short blogging life and see what I had learnt in 2010 and look forward to my attainable goals for 2011.

(2) 3 Simple Tips to Retain RSS Feed Subscribers for your Blog – Anyways, the joy of blogging increases once we begin to notice positives out of it. Isn’t it a great feeling when you see something happening and paying your positively? There are many ways to notice this development on your blogs and one of the top being your RSS feed subscribers. You want them. Isn’t it? Nothing excites me more than to see those feed count go up and up forever.

(3)How To Make Your Visitors Spend More Time In Your Blog – Any internet business owner must have understood the importance of traffic. No internet business can survive without it. One thing is to get the traffic and yet another is the convert them to customers. And that is always seems the harder part. If visitors come to your website and then leave immediately, it means that the bounce rate of your site is high. There are several ways through which you can lower this bounce rate and increase the stickiness of your website.

(4)Keep Your Visitors Coming Back – Returning visitors are very important for the survival of any website or blog if you check your website statistics this is one area you should pay attention to getting new visitors is important don’t under estimate that however it is good to see that your blog has lots of repeated visits. Repeated visits proves that your blog has value and quality. Writing good content is one of the contributing factor to having repeated visits A lot of successful websites depend on returning visitors to account for a major part of their traffic.

Writing Guest Posts has become very popular over the years, some bloggers do it while some don’t I personally believe that it is a great way of stamping out your authority as a blogger however why do we do it? If you have never written a guest post before and are planning to write one please Stop and think before you do so I have read a post recently where the owner of the popular blog seems a bit frustrated about some post sent to him for publishing but to his surprise they were not up to standard. Just imagine how you would feel if this had been you.

For some reasons we as bloggers seems to miss the point as my mother always says stop and think count to ten before you say anything. Another good lesson I learnt was years back while I was in construction I was taught to measure twice and cut once, now back to the main point of this post, a while back I wrote an article titled Guest Post Should We do them well I believe we should however you need to stop and think before submitting your post to the blog owner for publication.

Why should we write guest post? you may ask this question from time to time there might be millions of reasons but to me there should only be one and that is “You have something to offer”, forget about the links yes that is good for Seo and traffic building but as a blogger myself why should I publish a post that is of no significance to my blog or readers just so you can have a link back to your website or blog. Guest post writers should stop and think don’t embarrass yourself make sure if and when you are about to write your next Guest Post it is of value and you have something to offer.

We all know that writing guest post can bring lots of traffic and readers to your blog the potential can be endless but what you write is important quality is the main factor here not just some article to showcase must bloggers will reject them and even remove your profile from their blog.

The verdict Stop and think before you write there should be only one reason for your Post and that is that you have something to offer without that you cannot build authority or even get the traffic you are hoping for. Writing guest posts has huge benefit if you do it right. Share with me your reason for writing Guest Post. To me and this is just my opinion you should only do it for one reason and that is you have got something to offer. Thanks for reading and please feel free to spread the word over to you. Stop Think then write.

Do you answer questions asked by your readers? This is a topic that one of my readers asked if I could shed some light on and I am taking that challenge, but before you digest all these information I must inform you that I am no expert in these area, I am just a blogger sharing my knowledge and experience here on “How to write Impressive Articles To Attract More Visitors”. The information provided here has no scientific proof these are just tested and tried methods that I have been used and as I have said there is no research to back up this theory.

Before writing any article there are a few things to bear in mind and to me preparation is key here. Yes you heard it right we need to prepare ourselves to write. The Topic is very important here you need to choose a topic that you are not just familiar with but also has some knowledge about and you are passionate about. Now let’s look at a topic like Web Design for instance this is a broad topic and has good search volume but are you familiar with this topic or are you interested in Web Design? The point here if you have the basic knowledge about Web Design or Website Designers then go ahead choose this as your topic and do some research make bullet points and then start writing your article.

Now you have decide that Web Design is the chosen topic you have done all your research and have enough information to pen an article with between 400 and 700 words this could be longer or shorter it does not matter but in my experience you don’t want to write but you should make your post two long make simple easy to read and straight to the point. The topic Web Designer is only used as a reference here you have to choose your own topic.

We have chosen a topic done some research now it is time to choose your headline, this a very crucial step in attracting more visitors to your site, writing catchy headlines is one of the key factors to attract readers to your post. Look at these two headlines and see which one attracts you more; “Is Website Design Necessary?” Or “Is Website Design Dead?” definitely one is more catchy than the other now the idea here is to write compelling headlines.

Let us summarize here writing impressive articles needs lots of focus firstly you prepare yourself. Choose a topic, do your research then choose your headline for your post now you need to choose your writing style this is what makes you different from other bloggers. The style you choose is that which is more comfortable to you. Now what method do you use to write those impressive articles of yours? Share your thoughts on this post.

The Mad Blogger, slaving endlessly over a hot edit, is the typical picture of the hardcore blogger. This is where the jagged edges of the net, the rants, regurgitations and revelations originate, you’d think. Well, actually, no they don’t. The best blogs are based on something more than publishing your neuroses, however adorable. They’re based on a combination of motivation, talent, skills, and usually some good Search Engine Optimization which the ranters and ravers would be well advised to learn.

The blogging motif

Bloggers tend to gravitate to their primary areas of interest. That’s real motivation, not the tedious and unconvincing type of external motivation which rarely does much more than disturb the peace of mind of people trying to work.

The fact is that your talents, skills and interests are a much better guide to your abilities as a blogger than any amount of painfully learned irritating techniques. The expert is a person that can teach effortlessly. Some don’t even know they’re doing it. Although for bloggers this occasionally leads to the description “writes like an expert”, which can mean incomprehensible to some people, in most cases the blogger writes to people at their own level of knowledge.

Some bloggers do go to great lengths to ensure that novices and others can understand their materials, and even prepare “induction courses” to ensure that their audience can follow their blots.

The “blogging motif”, however, is the overall tone and scope of the blog, and the way it’s presented. Another description would be the character of the blog, and its general accessibility to users.

There’s a basic dichotomy in blogs:

Some are all-purpose, highly evolved blogs, with a complete archive, lots of background, and links everywhere to explain the issues. In big, multi-faceted blogs covering a large range of subjects, the blog can be pretty complex, and the “blog motif” is sometimes submerged in the vast array of materials.

The other type of blog tends to be more personal in nature, and the blogger tries hard to provide a personalized touch, including rather selflessly trying to provide the support materials themselves. Some of these blogs are excellent, although the amount of work involved can be horrendous in some cases, particularly in the case of technical blogs in which the materials required for references are extraordinarily complex.

Experts, however, are extremely highly motivated people. It’s not really work to them, it’s their passion. Their subjects are things they love, and they manage to present their blogs in the best possible styles, ensuring that their much loved topics and subjects are seen as favourably as possible. This personal touch is generally highly appreciated by their audiences, which react to the high level of empathy with the subject, and the invariably valuable advice experts can provide.

Find the subject you love, where you know you can perform effortlessly forever and never get tired of your subject matter. Learn SEO and how to manage your page rankings, and you’ll never look back.

We write our post proof read them and publish then finally we do promotion so that they get the best exposure. Where are my comments? This is a question I found a lot in my spam folder. Comments are something blogger is happy to see this proves that there are social interaction with our blogs. The reason for this post is to answer that frequently ask question I receive from a few commenter of late, well the simple answer is I deleted them. Why? simple they have no bearing on the post nor even blog on a whole just imagine you spent your time writing about Networking or link Building and get a few of these that I will now share some with you.

Here are a few of them

(1) - Thanks for sharing the link, but unfortunately it seems to be offline… Does anybody have a mirror or another source? Please reply to my post if you do!

(2) – Hi. I just noticed that your blog looks like it has a few code problems at the very bottom of your website’s page. I’m not sure if everybody is getting this same error when browsing your blog? I am employing a totally different browser than most people, referred to as Opera, so that is what might be causing it? I just wanted to make sure you know. Thanks for posting some great postings and I’ll try to return back with a completely different browser to check things out!

(3) – Exceptional, I passed this on to a friend of mine, and he actually bought me lunch because I found this for him, so let me rephrase: Thanks for lunch.

At some point as bloggers you must have come across some of these weird comments and starting to think hell no not again. Tough isn’t it? We have to deal with it can’t let them get you de-motivated, you know the reason why you blog and spammers love blogs. Here are three reasons why I delete your comments.

Irrelevant - Everyday I receive them comment that has no bearing what so ever on the topic of discussion I spent all my productive time writing for readers not spammers. While I welcome comments from all blogs of life of any niche I don’t appreciate irrelevant comments.

Website Name – Bet you never thought this would be a factor well it is. The popular trend now is that either the website name is left optional or it is Google yeah right I am stupid enough to believe that Google has left me a comment on my blog. Think again I am a blogger not an idiot.

Spamming – Third reason why I remove your comment from my blog is because I found your comment to be spam and you are promoting Porn nothing is wrong if you choose to promote porn but, unfortunate for you I don’t write any topic about porn so your comment should not promote it on my site. Where are my comments? I bin them I love comments but they must be relevant and offer something to my readers not foolish comments.

As bloggers like me do you get these types of comments and how do you handle them I really like to have your thoughts on this topic. Where are your comments? Where it should be in the trash can. Your question answered.

Writing is a must for all bloggers and Content is the King, but how do you write a compelling content one that attracts you readers. Any one can write unless he or she lacks mobility or simple just not interesting in writing. The point here is not just writing but writing worthwhile content is another matter, I strongly believe that there are three elements in your content that if you get that right your content will be a kick ass content. Paying attention to these three particular area in no doubt will make your content worth its weight in goal, they are The headline, The Body and the summary. We will look at these individually.

The Headline

This is your first point of call to action your headline is what sells your article, this is the first line the readers reads and if it is interest them then the rest is taken care of. Don’t get me wrong sometimes the headlines of an article is crap but the content is fabulous, but who would know? Speaking from past experience writing compelling headline is your best bet. There are many ways to write a compelling headline, you can do it by Asking a question, or my favourite is been thought provoking. The method that works best is the one that fits your writing style.

The Body

This is the second most important part of your content this is where readers get the information from, your article body should be informative and elaborate the headline. Take for example if you are asking a reader to sign up to a newsletter, this is where you sell the visitor the benefits of signing up. Remember you should give as much information as possible here. You might want to start by a way of giving some introduction before going into full details. Trying using sentences and write in paragraphs and most of all try and engage the reader, now lets move on to the final step.

The Summary

it is always good practice to summarise your content for your readers this serves as a refresher. some readers get lost during reading especially if the post was a lengthy one. Summarising your article only serves to remind the reader of what they have just read by putting this in a nut shell. There you have it the three most important points to remember when writing your article, get this right and you are on your way to writing a kick ass post for your readers. These three points I just shared with you is what I have learnt from my blogging experience by no means am an expert here I am just an avid blogger trying to change the internet one blog at a time. Now you have come this far feel free to speak your mind and sharing is caring. Thanks for taking the time out to read this.

Have you ever heard about the writers’ block? now there are was to deal with that as bloggers we have to write so we should not let the writers’ block get in the way.I believe that this phenomenon is just putting off what you can do today until tomorrow the expert believe that it is who that is lazy cried about “Writers’ Block”.

Would you believe me if i told you that there is no such thing as the “Writers Block”? yes i strongly believe that if you decide to write a post you will find the inspiration from some where to write the post. The best thing to do is to start writing something anything just start the writing the rest will flow. It is advisable to start your writing even if you can not find the beginning or the title just start somewhere you will get the energy to continue.

How i do it? it is my blog i need to keep it up to date my financial resources are limited i used that as one of my motivating tool to force myself to create an article although sometimes my post my seems a bit thought provoking, speaking of thought provoking nothing is wrong with that at times you have to be even controversial as bloggers we need to be engaging get your post out there your readers are waiting for it so get up grab you pen and paper, the words will come. I know that there is time when the going gets tough but letting the lazy side get the better of you is not the way to go.

How do I Overcome The Writers’ Block

Well this can be easy depends on the way you look at it getting over stumble blocks as bloggers may not be the simplest of things to do. When i am in the mood to write i just keep writing if i am writing one post and get another idea i write down then when finished i just start the second. When there is no motivation to write i just go blog walking and this was what inspire me to start the “Round-Up Series” and i would recommend this as it gives room for when there is no idea to formulate a post. Now do you believe that there is no such thing as “Writers Blok”? if there is how do you deal with share your views.

Have you ever take a look at all blogs what they all have in common?, yes you said it right content not just content but "Good Content". Better blogging is about having the right promotion link building and all the right ideas to keep your blog fresh and updated.

a steady flow of traffic to our blog but are any of these possible yes it can but we need to take some factors into consideration. Have you ever take a look at all blogs what they all have in common?, yes you said it right content not just content but “Good Content”. Better blogging is about having the right promotion link building and all the right ideas to keep your blog fresh and updated. While some bloggers could care less if their posts are read, others actively try to gain more readers. Some advertisers are offering money for blogs that get high traffic amounts. Before you digest this i must remind you that i am not an expert just sharing my experience and opinion.

Choose a Writing Tone

Some believe that using a casual tone works best for blogging while others don’t the truth is you should not be too worried about this my advice is to choose the tone that you feel comfortable with, you know what works best for you and your readers after all you write for your readers and they are what matters most to you. Using a casual tone is like having a conversation with a friend and don,t be afraid to use jargons or slangs as long as it is not offensive to your readers. This will bring out the humour in you but don’t over do it and never ignore grammars.

Don’t Overdo It With The Length of Your Post
Here is Another area which is always up for debate ,for me keeping blog post some where between four hundred and six hundred words is a reasonable length post however there is no hard and fast rule on this you decide the length of your blog post but keeping it short and concise is the best option in my opinion don’t left your readers get bored. If you need to write a very long post it is worth breaking it up in different parts again this gives you the writer of having another post.

Use Your Advertising Space Adequately

As bloggers we often monetize our blogs and by this i meant offering advertising space on our blogs Too often we see bloggers doing this and their blogs are so crowded with ads that it looks very cluttered people use blogs as a space to advertise their services or their products. This can be a cheap way to get your work out there. It is noted however that blog readers can get annoyed quickly at advertisements on blogs. If you must advertise on your blog, consider doing so in a more careful way like using rotating ad manager. for me i don’t mind the ads but i don’t like the content has to three or four ads in between them especially if it is ads that uses your content to generate the advertisement because sometimes the ads get duplicated.

Check Your Spelling And Post Frequently

Most Bloggers would use a text editor of some sort to write their post or they would use the in built ones that your blogging platform provides whatever ones you uses make sure that you check you spelling before you publish your post to the public although we sometimes uses jargon in our writing it is always best practice to do a spell check before going live. Another point worth thinking about is how often to post well again you know your readers some visit daily weekly and so on so judging by that it would be a good idea to post as often as you possible can. That’s it folks please share your thoughts and feedback on this post remember comment luv is enabled.
