Cloud Hosting the new craze all bloggers by now should have  heard the name Cloud Hosting before it seems to be the new choice offered to website owners for the purpose on online storage. There are many web hosting companies that are offering this service for free and some includes them as part of their normal services. But what is Cloud Hosting? According to Wikipedia Cloud storage is a model of networked online storage where data is stored on virtualized pools of storage which are generally hosted by third parties. Hosting companies operate large data canters; and people who require their data to be hosted buy or lease storage capacity from them and use it for their storage needs. The data centre operators, in the background, virtualize the resources according to the requirements of the customer and expose them as storage pools, which the customers can themselves use to store files or data objects. Physically, the resource may span across multiple servers. Cloud storage services may be accessed through a web service application programming interface (API), or through a Web-based user interface.

Cloud storage has the same characteristics as cloud computing in terms of agility, scalability, elasticity and multi-tenancy. According to Computer Weekly, it is believed by many experts to have been invented by Joseph Carl Robnett Licklider in the 1960’s. Since the sixties, cloud computing has developed along a number of lines, with Web 2.0 being the most recent evolution. However, since the internet only started to offer significant bandwidth in the nineties, cloud computing for the masses has been something of a late developer.

One of the first milestones for cloud computing was the arrival of Salesforce.com in 1999, which pioneered the concept of delivering enterprise applications via a simple website. The services firm paved the way for both specialist and mainstream software firms to deliver applications over the internet. Another notable mention would be FilesAnywhere who also in 1999 helped pioneer cloud based storage services that also enable users to securely share files online. Both of which continue to offer those services still today. When dealing with or choosing your online storage you need to do your research read reviews on blogs or website that provides detailed and impartial reviews about top online storage so that you can get good knowledge about pricing and storage facilities. There are lots of website that provides information about online storage cloud storage is something that helps reduce downtime as a version of site of files or stored on different servers just making it easier to access and also at a faster rate. Have you ever thought about Cloud storage ? then check out the this review at top online storage and let me know what you think.

  1. The main advantage of cloud storage is its ability to expand and contract as per the requirements of the user, on-demand. Since most companies cannot estimate the amount of storage they may need, cloud storage could be very useful. Its also a pay-as-per-usage model.

  2. You bring up a good point that Cloud should be distinguished. Far to often it seems the term cloud is either overused or used interchangeably. Therefore, it is used out of context. The big thing for cloud for me is the ability not to lose documents. I do think hacking will be a bigger problem with these accounts though.

  3. Great post…
    This article is very useful.
I was not know about much more cloud hosting. But after read this article i satisfied know about this article. Mainly Cloud storage is a model of networked online storage where data is stored on virtualized pools of storage which are generally hosted by third parties.
    Thanks for sharing this article.

  4. Cloud storage really making life easy as you don’t have to carry your hard-drive all the time to save your data, now you can simply secure your data with cloud storage services like dropbox and many more.

  5. Cloud storage occupy storing data on multiple effective servers that are usually hosted by third parties, cloud files verify to be a simple and easy system to store in the internet and share out them for presentation of high capability.

  6. I think it is a great idea about this Cloud Storage but I am not sure how protected the data is, I mean is it totally available for anyone who searches for it or there are some options for different users?

  7. The big thing for cloud for me is the ability not to lose documents. This blog is very useful thanks for sharing with us..

  8. Hi Lawmacs and other people. Term cloud storage was something completely unknown for me until minutes ago. I mean, i was thinking of somebody completely different. Reading the article of course gives feeling of already known topics, it’s just – I never thought of it that way.
Anyway, I admit: I’m not visiting lawmacs.com on daily basis. But when I do there’s always a lot of very useful informations.

  9. I wasn’t aware about cloud storage. After reading this post, I have learned a lot about it. Services like this has made our life easier and it also can save a lot of money of our.

  10. Cloud storage is one of the novice idea for online storage. This technology is becoming popular today and it will also be welcomed in future.

  11. This is great idea to use Cloud storage for the storage of data. But I am not sure whether it is secure or not.

  12. Great article with some great explanations. I personally use a cloud based VPS for my web hosting and it’s worked out great for me so far. I’d highly recommend moving your sites and data storage to the cloud if you haven’t already.

  13. For me, security is main concern while using this kind of services and still do not require to worry while file transfer.

  14. Compared to traditional storage systems cloud storage is instantaneously scalable in response to business demands. Cloud-based computing virtualizes the location, connectivity, and resources behind loosely-coupled application components in order to be elastic –able to move and shift computing and storage resources, and rapidly deploy new systems or applications, in response to any demand.

  15. One way or another soon we’ll all use the cloud both for work and personal use, as it is faster and cheaper, and offer us mobility. I think that at this point bigger companies are still experimenting, and people are still reluctant, due to possible security issues.

As any other new technology, cloud too has to conquer its crowd.

  16. I’ve heard great things about Cloud storage. However as of the moment, i don’t consider using this service since i’m still hesitant that my files will be deleted due to unforeseen circumstances. Maybe in the future i will but as of the moment, i won’t.

  17. My Engineering project was based on cloud storage. This article is very useful. Cloud storage will replace the hard drives in near future. Some free cloud (limited memory space) is available. This will create awareness among the people who do not much about cloud. Thanks for sharing:)

  18. Definitely a great post! Cloud is the best concept ever! I will stick to this till the end. It helps me lot in storing my important data.

  19. The “cloud” is ABSOLUTELY the future. People are already taking their entire music collections with them everywhere, by storing it in the cloud ! (Google Music, Amazon’s cloud service, etc). This is the way everything is headed!

  20. Cloud storage is indeed all new but I bet we will see everyone will jump on it and use cloud storage.

  21. If you have a large amount of data which you need to be able to access easily at any time, then cloud storage is a good solution. Another plus is that it offer you plenty of mobility, so no matter where you are if you have an Internet connection you’ll be able to access your data. The downsize, is that your info will be hosted by a 3rd party, which involves some security risks.

Although companies are the ones which benefit the most from cloud storage, individuals can do too – a good example is iCloud.

  22. Excellent post, I’m using Amazon S3 cloud storage to host some of my site’s assets. Its very cost effective and performant.

  23. come on guys.. cloud technology is the future! hacking will be a lot harder and total file security will be significantly attainable. there are free services out there but don’t settle for it. there are many great cloud service providers out there at justifiable cost.

thanks for this great post buddy.

  24. The main business opportunity provided by cloud computing is outsourcing processes outside firm. Allows a company to focus on their core business and at the same time get rid of expensive IT solutions. Expenditures for maintenance and security of data and software licenses, are those costs which can be avoided by using cloud computing.

  25. For some computer owners, finding enough storage space to hold all the data they’ve acquired is a real challenge. Some people invest in larger hard drives. Others prefer external storage devices like thumb drives or compact discs. Desperate computer owners might delete entire folders worth of old files in order to make space for new information. But some are choosing to rely on a growing trend: cloud storage. it really refers to saving data to an off-site storage system maintained by a third party.

  26. Great suggestions. I just want to elaborate that when you are promoting your storage facility online, it is advisable to participate in Social Networking Sites as this has more chances of getting a successful lead compared to any other techniques

  27. Most of the big companies today’s using this platform.
It provides you good storage, data loss is negligible.
quite nice technology to use in less infrastructure.

  28. I realize the flexibility cloud storage and cloud computing offer. However I’m always a bit scared at the idea that the third party could simply loose all my data should anything happen (like a big misfailure on their side or something like that).
I guess a regular backup on my side should fix that issue, but still … this lack of control bothers me a little.

    1. This quite a promising and great alternative here. Cloud storage been here since 1999 and it’s been a while and I never encountered any negative posts regaring this Cloud storage. I think this is an awesome piece of info you shared. Gotta try this one.

  29. Thanks for sharing this article. The big thing for cloud for me is the ability not to lose documents. Cloud storage really making life easy as you don’t have to carry your hard-drive all the time to save your data, now you can simply secure your data with cloud storage services like dropbox and many more. Mainly Cloud storage is a model of networked online storage where data is stored on virtualized pools of storage which are generally hosted by third parties.

  30. A very interesting, and perceptive article, we recently switched to an on-premise Cloud Gateway appliance from SMEStorage. This enables us to make our local files available on iPad and Android phones and gives us a Cloud Drive on our Windows and Linux desktops. We automate encrypted backups to Amazon S3 as this is cheap and effective and enables us to feel secure that we have a copy of premise. It’s not perfect but it is getting there and support is good which I would outline as a pre-requsisite for these products. Make sure you have a support team you can rely on as it is crucial in the early stages of adoption.

  31. There are many good points about cloud. I do tend to agree with Dave, in that the potential for hacking puts me off. I must confess though, I have never deeply explored the whole picture. My worries may well turn out to be unfounded. Thank’s for a thought provoking post though.

  32. This is a great solution of decluttering you on-site servers. One of the scary things about this though is losing your files. It seems to be out of your hands. I think cloud storage needs a few more years.

    1. Tessa, i come fro a non-technical background, can you help in identifying the costs and the most effective cloud hosting services? Do the biggies like Hostgator & GoDaddy also offer these services?

  33. This is my first time actually to heard this ” Cloud Hosting”. The article clearly explain the concept about website hosting and I am really much interested on this because Im still on the process of doing my web hosting. I keep on coming back to your site for more related information regarding website management.

  34. I have heard the name Cloud Storage. This is the first time I’m getting some comprehensive information about it. Thanks for that.

  35. Hello….
The e-signature feature is a very good and unique feature. However, nowadays with a proliferation of solutions available for file sharing and storage available in the cloud, if we can come across a single solution with multiple overlapping capabilities.

  36. Cloud hosting is the future not only for bloggers but it is certainly the future of Computing. I think that even Computers OS will run in cloud type services. We cannot escape the Cloud Service type technologies and OEM manufacturers will support and make Cloud based hardware devices.

  37. Cloud hosting is certainly the future not only for bloggers but it is certainly the future of computing. Quite interesting and informative reading!

  38. I am fascinated by this cloud concept and am also using plugins to backup my blog on cloud . Cloud is the future and i am also planning to get chromebooks which runs on cloud 😀

  39. As with all things on the internet it comes down to convenience vs security. If you’re comfortable with the company that is providing the cloud then go for it. I use Steam from Valve and it saves all my settings for every game I play using their service. If I reformat or my hard drive crashes I’ll always have my video, sound, and key bindings in the cloud at my disposal saving me a lot of inconvenience. The trade off is that they remember my account details for the games I’ve purchased using their client (which in all honestly I see nothing wrong with). And I’m okay with this because I trust Valve.

  40. Resolving Business Problem use Cloud Computing

One of most important point is “cloud computing” based on internet. Although Social Media has been a buzz trend for quite some time, as has Cloud Computing, both share the reality that actual adoption is still in its earliest days and relatively low. The idea of cloud computing is evolved parallel Processing, Disturbed Computing and Grid Computing.

    Cloud Computing Challenges:
    Control
    Performance
    Reliability
    Security
    Cost Of Bandwidth
    Transparency
    Supplier Lock-In

Cloud Computing is spreading and impacting business models of IT company, we provide services of implementations and solutions in Cloud complementing the existing solutions in the traditional model. It is the new system that had promised so many things in the structure and conduct of business to online organizations and businesses. Cloud computing is taking over faster than many may realize. More and more people are turning to it each and every day. As technology progresses, cloud computing will become a more efficient and accepted means of computing. Quality cloud hosting providers is dedicated hardware for file storage. A cloud provider should also provide processing for clients so that their servers are available for access whenever a client needs access to data and security.

All Internal and External Parts of cloud computing is mostly using time saving and great security providers to achieve their goal of protections. Many organization have most priority is backup and secure data. Cloud computing is a significant evolution that changing the way we think about how we deliver our computational infrastructure to end users.

  41. I have never heard before about the cloud storage but after read this post i like it. It is quite interesting more than profit. Could you please serve more details in your next post? I want to know about more.

  42. Thanks for sharing this article. I highly recommend using cloud storage. I would not recommend putting stuff that you might not want the public to get a hold of, but must companies have great security.

  43. Cloud is really very helpful and useful since it is offered in such a way that it can cater to suit every body’s need of storage. This is indeed a great discovery.

  44. Cloud storage is indeed a great help for it allows us to save more money by paying only the one that we use. It can be access almost anywhere also. This is indeed a very great innovative discovery for us to explore.

  45. I use the drop box actually as my storage for all my files. It is a good way of keeping files safely for now.

  46. Cloud is really very helpful and useful since it is offered in such a way that it can cater to suit every body’s need of storage. This is indeed a great discovery.
