  1. Selling old phones to recycling companies seems to be the best option so far because these are only dumped in garbage sites. And worse, we know all too well that these aren’t biodegradable so do the world a favor and sell your old phones to those who can recycle them.

  2. One dumps phone for two reasons, either the phone is out-dated or it’s not functioning properly.

Either we can sell it some needy people, or best would be to gave it up to some recycling companies that would not only helps the environment but also it’s a good practice.

  10. Very interesting. I was not aware people typically bought old cell phones. I knew recycling of old phones was encouraged but generally I notice people just put them in designated cell phone recycling bins and are paid nothing for it. I’m intrigued to know there is an option that is even more win-win.

  11. This is very interesting, Gary. Selling your old cellphone to a good reseller will be beneficial to both the owner and the environment. It’s a good way to maximize our old possessions. Even if we don’t want them anymore, others could still make use of it.

  12. Recycling is good no matter what the product is, but this is a huge problem and most of these companies use the phones in 3rd world areas. I know one that sends the phones to Africa and gives them away free so that the locals can text to find out where Dr are if they need medical attention. This is a fantastic system as the texting is free and to try placing towers all over Africa would be too costly.
So now you can get the highest price plus know your phone is going to a good cause. Simply marvelous!

  13. I usually buy phones later than they were released to save some cash. And I would agree with the thought that used phones are definitely cheaper. In fact, I had this old phone which I no longer intended to use. It’s a bit hard to sell it at your price terms because of the fact that the phone was already used and a bit old as well. So, I sold it on a really cheaper value. It’s worth it in any way since I no longer use that phone.

  14. Thank you for this post. I was honestly contemplating what to do with my broken mobile phone. It got chewed on by our dogs but the parts are still intact. The only thing that is broken though is the LCD.

From my experience you’ll get as much or more than selling on Ebay with a lot less hassle.
