When you have a popular blog, there will be an interest in your advertising space. By placing paid advertisements on your sidebar in the form of text links, or banners, or buttons, you have the ability to charge a monthly sum for the right to place those ads on your blog. When selling advertising space, take your time and be selective in what you advertise.

Another popular option with bloggers is to place Google ads on their blog. You can choose the ad size, the ad placement, and they generate based on the topic you’re writing about. Based on the keywords, ads have different values. You’re paid when people click through the ads.

Paid blogging gained a lot of popularity over the last two years. You’re paid to create a written advertisement, and it becomes its very own post on your blog. This are often called sponsored posts. You’ll be given a link or deep link to embed in the post that you write.

Lastly, affiliate marketing offers you the opportunity making money selling other people’s products and services. When you place advertisements or links to other sites, you generate a commission for either leads or sales. Affiliate marketing is a huge industry, and offers a huge selection of choices, so you can usually find products that work with your particular blog topic.

There are many ways to make money with your blog; the hardest part is choosing which will work best for your blog. I personally prefer to work with multiple streams of income, and combine a couple onto each blog I create.

  2. Nice post on monetizing your blog. Paid blogging is good for earning money from your blogs but it hurts your google rankings.

  8. I fully agree with you, aspecially at the point about combining several streams of income. I think only such an approach can bring a blogger profit. And of course, a blog should be valuable and regularly updated with unique content, so that it could get a higher rank.
