A new year has started the holiday period is over it is now time to get back online and start the blogging rolling again one of the thing i learned from last year is that your blog needs exposure. Moving on from last year looking back at some of the challenges and the increasing competition almost every time you look there are new blogs rising up we need to look seriously at promoting our website this was my main lessons learnt throughout the year creating a blog and just leaving it there is like putting a fish in a tank and don’t feed it well no need to say it you know the answer to that.Here are a few tips for promoting your blog.some you may have been doing already and if you have been then do them better.
(1) Commenting
This is a bit time consuming but has huge benefits a good article to read is latief 9 benefits of leaving comments on blogs that are of similar interest to yours make constructive comments on other blog, don’t just comment for the sake of back links never spam we hate spammers
(2) Start A Contest Or Join One
If You are a blogger hold a contest this very encouraging for your visitors just image knowing that you have the opportunity to achieving some form of prizes just by visiting a blog and posting a comment take a look at the one run by a very good associates of mine hesham of FamousBloggers.net it was brilliant and did i mentioned that i was the commentator of the month for December 2009.
(3) Email auto Responder
This is a useful marketing tool for your website best of all it is free and you can do it yourself just set it and it will do the work for you. The idea here is to write a short description about your blog and insert your blog address, whenever any one emails you then the auto responder will send the details to their inbox with a link back to your blog.
(4) Engage Your Readers
By engaging your readers you are encouraging active participation from time to time you respond to their comment answer any question or concern that they may have this can be a bit time consuming but if you do comment moderation this gives you the opportunity to add your personal touch to your followers this will also encourage your readers to use the most powerful marketing tool they have WAM or Word Of Mouth this can be viral.
(5) Optimize Your Content
Content is king then your blog is the kings castle so promotion and optimization in my views are the kings tool he needs them to do is work optimize for organic search engine traffic as you know no traffic no blog it is this why needs to promote our website there are many other form of Website promotion i just share five simple tips with you feel free to leave a comment and share you idea with us. happy Blogging.

I have been doing blog commenting from quite some time and it is doing great for my blog as i get some decent traffic via that.The last but not the least point which you mentioned about content is great , one should have unique content.I have ben practising all the point swhich you have mentioned above except email auto responder.

Commenting helps a lot. But it take quite some time to go through the blogs. Reading and commenting…
The first tip works very well. I’ve actually seen some blogs rank high on Google after a few months just because of the owner’s patience in placing comments on other blogs. But, of course, there’s an art to placing comments and what you said is actually true. Among other things, it’s also important that you use your targetted keywords as your name. Just don’t use it when you’re dropping notes on friends. lol
