4 Great iPad/iPhone Applications for Working With International Clients

If you are an attorney regularly working with international firms, you can utilize certain iPad and iPhone applications to aid you in both your written and oral communication with international clients. You can utilize these applications from your phone or even your MAC computer. I work as a corporate attorney, and our clients mostly reside in Latin America. I have used some of the applications for translations, practice, and even general learning. I would say I have become fluent in Spanish, and I am currently working on perfecting my Turkish. I was also able to use most of these applications on my trips to Venezuela, Turkey, and Mexico. They all work well, so start working on your language skills today. This application can help you absorb vocabulary words at a manageable pace. The application teaches you 10 words everyday, which are commonly used in both the English language and the language you are learning. The application sends you a daily email with ten new words. It then gives you examples on how the words are used by native speakers. The best part: you can access these tools from your phone or iPad, while you are on the go! I used to use the features on my way to work on the subway. The application also provides you with a test feature, where you can quiz yourself on appropriate usage of the word.

Loopt

I often have to travel to business meetings both domestically and internationally. Many times, I have to take out clients or co-workers in a new location. The Loopt application has been incredibly helpful when I have needed to take out clients for dinner or drinks abroad. The application scans popular locations close to your point of interest/current location. As you know, for attorneys, first impressions can be everything. You want to impress your client and show them you are a reputable source. The application also has another important component: you can also find out where some of your friends are (if you want to use it in your permanent location).

Zagat TO GO

If you want to read actual reviews about the places you plan to eat, Zagat TO GO will be an incredibly useful application. If you are dining out with clients or corporate attorneys your senior, it is important to find a reputable restaurant for the occasion. Use Zagat to hear what people thought of the restaurant (most of them famed chefs or food critics). Bon Appétit

Make your international travels less stressful with Travel Tracker Pro. This application can replace your office secretary while you are attending meetings or dealing with clients abroad.
