WritersBlock A friend once asked this question how do i know what to write about and find the time to write? sounds like a simple question that requires a simple answer sorry to disappoint you but this is not as simple as its sounds. Have you ever heard about the writers’ block? now there are was to deal with that as bloggers we have to write so we should not let the writers’ block get in the way.I believe that this phenomenon is just putting off what you can do today until tomorrow the expert believe that it is who that is lazy cried about “Writers’ Block”.

Would you believe me if i told you that there is no such thing as the “Writers Block”? yes i strongly believe that if you decide to write a post you will find the inspiration from some where to write the post. The best thing to do is to start writing something anything just start the writing the rest will flow. It is advisable to start your writing even if you can not find the beginning or the title just start somewhere you will get the energy to continue.

How i do it? it is my blog i need to keep it up to date my financial resources are limited i used that as one of my motivating tool to force myself to create an article although sometimes my post my seems a bit thought provoking, speaking of thought provoking nothing is wrong with that at times you have to be even controversial as bloggers we need to be engaging get your post out there your readers are waiting for it so get up grab you pen and paper, the words will come. I know that there is time when the going gets tough but letting the lazy side get the better of you is not the way to go.

How do I Overcome The Writers’ Block

Well this can be easy depends on the way you look at it getting over stumble blocks as bloggers may not be the simplest of things to do. When i am in the mood to write i just keep writing if i am writing one post and get another idea i write down then when finished i just start the second. When there is no motivation to write i just go blog walking and this was what inspire me to start the “Round-Up Series” and i would recommend this as it gives room for when there is no idea to formulate a post. Now do you believe that there is no such thing as “Writers Blok”? if there is how do you deal with share your views.

  1. If there is no such thing as writer’s block, how come I always manage to have it? 😉

All joking aside, there are times when I want to write but I just can’t seem to come up with the right topic. When that happens, I usually get away from the keyboard and do something else. Once I do return, I usually come back with some fresh ideas and the words begin to flow.

I think this is common with many bloggers and nobody should ever feel forced to write an article just for the sake of writing. Speaking for myself, I think it’s better to walk away and wait a couple of hours or even a couple of days and come back refreshed with some new ideas.

Keep up the excellent work Gary because you never seem to be at a loss for writing great words. 🙂

    1. Thanks for those kind words Robert having other great bloggers around like you makes you always want to right reading comments like yours is another motivating factor for me.

  2. Very nice post bro. writer’s block, it is getting very common in this blogosphere. I think most of us are suffering from the same. But as you said there is nothing like it, I feel it all depends upon one’s perception. For me, if I have to get out of this writer’s block, I need to plan it well and very well. I have to keep thinking on new ideas and inspirations. Being a niche-less blogger, it is quite easier for me to do the same but not the same case with the niche bloggers. What I think, blogging gets very simple for those who spend most of their time in planning and thinking about their future posts. You may post one time but then you will have to post again after 2-3 days. So, you have to keep thinking all the times to stay updated in this mad race. Very well said, just have a paper and pencil and start writing anything and you will see it happening for you. I guess you are right bro. You need a start and rest will follow…Keep it up !

    1. Yes Aswani it seems to be getting very common but the key here is when you are in the mood to write just write as many post as you can Then you will have them for the day that you are not in the mood not to write a simple but effective solution. thanks for your valuable input.

  3. Great post Gary. When I can’t seem to come up with the right topic usually I take a look at my google reader to see if I can find ispiration from my list of 50 blog. Also, to find new ideas usually I go to run for few hours.

    1. That is another way of finding inspiration and the courage to write as bloggers we need to get this no-writing mood under control as writing is a big part of what we do.

  4. I go through bouts of writers block where you just don’t feel like writing anything because you have no inspiration, I have developed a system of steps to follow to try and inspire myself to write. In the end, if you don’t feel like writing a post for a few days, take the time off and recover, inspiration will come back to you (sometimes you just can’t force it).

    1. Hi Justin long time however we feel we need to tell ourselves that this is something that we are in control of getting up from the computer for an hour or two sometimes cure these of just go blog walking.

  5. Excellent post bro 🙂 i guess most of us go through writer’s block at some point of time in our blogging career.

If i don’t have anything to write in my mind i just try to get away for few hours and listen to music or a walk.

It is useless to write just for the sake of writing a blog post.

    1. Nice way of finding motivation Shabnam going for a walk not only refreshes the mind but also exercise the body which is good for motivation

  6. Blog walk? that’s interesting man 🙂 Well, I personally believe that writer’s block exists, I think it’s due to stress or lack of concentration or perhaps distracted that eventually kills our moods in writing. But what I mostly do to recover from this distractions is smoking, yet I won’t advice this to you guys. It’s just me, and I’m actually trying to break the habit at the moment.

    Regards,
    Jason

    1. Thanks Jason smoking is a good way of relaxing however i have given it up ages ago and most people don’t really smoke a walk of jogging would do some good to the mind thanks for sahring.

  7. I like these tips for dealing with writers block. In a perfect world, we would be inspired at any time we like. But in reality we have to go with the flow, and even force ourselves sometimes.
