LET YOUR WEBSITE HELP YOU GET AHEAD OF THE COMPETITION

November 10, 2011 Posted by Gary Marketing 54 Comments

Every business aims to succeed and get high profits. But before a business or a person achieves success one has to strive and face the challenges that get in their way to success. And one of the common challenges that every company come across when in a business is competition. Every entrepreneur or business owner wants to be on the top, to stand out among the crowd and promote clientele. However, not all of them are brave enough to take their business on a higher level instead many businesses still opt to do the traditional method of promoting their business. As a result, most of these businesses lost the opportunity to acquire more customers and increase sales. Success taste sweeter to those who took bolder decisions in trying new strategies in promoting their business.

Competition is inevitable in any business and getting ahead of your competitors is one of the biggest challenges that every business owners confronts. And having a website is one of the toughest yet the best decision that one can ever make for the advantage of their business.

THE BENEFITS OF HAVING A WEBSITE FOR YOUR BUSINESS ARE:

1. Establish Online Presence. Roughly 80% of consumers today search the internet for the best products that can be found in the market. Hence, it is imperative that you build presence on the web so people could find you. Moreover, as a business owner you have to realize that majority of customers today no longer use yellow pages or phonebooks to contact businesses.

2. Gain Credibility through Website. Consumers often patronize businesses or companies that have a “good name” or one that has credibility. Using a website for your business helps you build a good reputation on the web and make your business look like a professional one.

3. Save Money and Time. Considering the potential market you can reach with a website, it can be a very cost-effective means of promoting your business compared to traditional marketing methods (ads in news papers, business cards, flyers, etc.). It also saves you time, we know that providing information to your prospect clients through telephone, brochure, and sometimes meeting them up takes time. By using website you can provide your target customers the information about the products you sell or services that you provide.

4. Keep Your Clients Informed. Website is easier to edit compared to print ads. Therefore, it is an painless way of updating your customers about the new products that you are selling or informing them about new developments in your company.

5. It is accessible and improves customer service. Once you have finally launched your website anyone can visit your site from any parts of the globe. By having a website you make yourself available both for your regular and prospect clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week the whole year round.

6. You Can Reach Wider Market. A website is a great medium of reaching your global market. For a seller who is wishing to sell their products in a wider market having a website is a great opportunity in showing your products to global audience.

Having a website to represent your business in today’s trade is important not only to beat your competitors but also to boost the awareness of your target audience to your product.

I guess its a very good idea to have a website to increase the online presence of companies. It might be a better idea to have a blog along with the website to update about the latest news/ products offered by the company. This will manage to get new customers.

    Hi, Noel and Gary.

A website is indeed very important in business especially when used along with traditional marketing methods. Online and offline marketing tactics should go hand in hand for them to be more effective in helping you reach your business goals. Because while a lot of people now are tech savvy, there are still others who prefer the more conventional methods like business cards, brochures, newsletters and even radio and TV ads.

But, good points, Noel. They are indeed among the best advantages we can get from having a website. 🙂

We could say that if you’re not online, then you are definitely missing something. The best part is that an online presence gives users the possibility to get to know your business and see that behind a brand and a logo there are people working just as him.

    Noel,

No doubt about it, a website absolutely wonderful way to expand the business reach. It almost seems foolish for business not to establish some sort of an online presence. Those that are not online now are quickly going to fade into the woodwork as time progresses and finding businesses online becomes even more prevalent. Like any huge technological innovation those that do not get on board will quickly be left behind in the dust of their broken and trampled outdated technologies.

The best way for an online entrepreneur to leave his major competitors behind the scene is to promote and monetize an online resource in an effective way. Pay special attention to such website promotion techniques as search engine optimization, PPC advertising and social network marketing.

There’s obviously value in having a website. I think there is also cost in not having one if that implies a fairly old-fashioned, possibly even complacent attitude to how you do business. Maybe it’s okay in a small number of trades but I’m still surprised by the number of people who still swear blind they can do it all face to face or over the phone.

“Keep Your Clients Informed.” It will be a terrible mistake if people don’t give a good care to this point. The clients or visitors will be the ones who decide the existence of a website, and if they are not well informed, it can be considered that your website (and your business) is dead.

An important thing in our neck of the woods is that a website speaks for your business when you can’t. This is great for customers who do research BEFORE contacting a vendor.

Then, it is important that your website compares favorably with those of your competitors.
